VISIT SPOKANE CELEBRATES 50 YEARS ON HEELS OF RECORD-BREAKING DIGITAL AND FINANCIAL SUCCESS

Visit Spokane Thursday commemorated its 50th anniversary of promoting and elevating Spokane as a premier destination by releasing new data that continues to suggest that Spokane is growing as a must-see tourism destination.

“Fifty years in, our story is still being written,” said Rose Noble, President and CEO of Visit Spokane. “We are energized by what Spokane has built, grateful for the partners who make it possible, and excited for what comes next as we keep inviting the world to experience this region.”

New data Visit Spokane released in its community impact report at its annual meeting Thursday, revealed immense growth in world-wide engagement on its digital platforms as well as impressive convention data.

2025 Community Impact Report highlights:

  • 1.5 million active users on VisitSpokane.com
  • 44.5 million marketing campaign impressions driving to VisitSpokane.com
  • Distributed 170,000 visitor guides and maps
  • Invested $705,000 in local businesses through creative campaign production
  • Reached more than 90,000 followers across social media platforms
  • Visit Spokane also generated $13 million in earned media
  • Supported 39 sales site and planning visits
  • Generated 1,120 referrals and leads to local businesses
  • Delivered 65 attendance‑building and welcome campaigns
  • Achieved a 99 percent post‑convention satisfaction rate

This data, coupled with previously released report from Tourism Economics, supports that premise. The 2024 report shows visitor volume in 2024 surpassed 10 million for the first time and total visitor spending in Spokane County reached $1.53 billion. The 2025 numbers will be released in May.

“Visit Spokane’s impact reflects years of steady work across the community,” said Melissa Green, Chair of the Visit Spokane Board of Directors. “Alignment among hotels, venues, parks, small businesses, and civic partners is what turns that effort into measurable results.”

Expo ‘74 planted the idea that tourism could be an economic driver for Spokane County. In 1976, the Spokane Convention and Visitors Bureau was founded, now known as Visit Spokane. Over the past five decades, the organization has played a vital role in supporting Spokane’s growth, building demand for the region, telling Spokane’s story authentically, and translating visitation into benefits that strengthen both the economy and the everyday experience of living here.

In its time, Visit Spokane has worked to ensure the expansion of the Convention Center, the building of The Davenport Grand hotel, and the redevelopment of Riverfront Park to boost its appeal, and more recently, The Podium in 2021 and ONE Spokane Stadium in 2023 to further enhance the destination.
